Approach

Through extensive market research, competitive analysis, and talking with potential users, I was able to ideate through designs with feedback and research

Goals

By including the users during the early stages of the project, we hope to get an insight of some of the pain points and struggles that users might face.

Market Research

16,000 Refugees

have been welcomed in Buffalo, NY since 2002.

$3.1 Billion

The amount foreign-born residents contributed to the Gross Domestic Product in the Buffalo area in 2014.

$964.5 Million

The estimated amount by which immigrants increased the total housing value of Buffalo between 2000-2014 and continue to grow

Yelp

- Good rating system that encourages user engagement.

- Only focuses on larger established businesses

Uber Eats

- primarily used as a delivery service or middle man.

- Can be a good feature to connect with Home Cookie

Task Rabbit

- Similar to Home cookie but focuses primarily on gig economy and handymen.

Process (Phase 2)

MVP Roadmap

Using a variety of mainly free tools, I built out a roadmap that uses AI and automation tools to deliver a personalized user experience. I also included multiple backups of backups for the users information using different databases to ensure data protection.

Design (Phase 3)

Iterations and Improvements

Before settling down and committing to a final design, I brainstormed several different versions of the main pages and did some usability test/interviews to see if they are viable options. I then went back and improved the designs based on the data I gathered.

1. More Info at A Glance

- We changed the home screen to include more important information at a quick glance.
- We also Introduced more visuals such as a progress bar and charts

2. Emphasis On Just One

- Rather then listing out each workout in a column, theres an emphasis on the current workout along with a more intuitive interface

3. A More Organized Bio

- The bio was first inspired by other social medias but than changed showcase more relevant health information at the forefront.
- Progress photos are broken up into weekly blocks rather then individual photos for better organization.

1. Streamlined Onboarding

- After some user feedback, we realized that the onboarding process plays a huge role in whether or not a user decides to sign up so making it as easy as possible will ensure and increase in user retention.

2. Intuitive Homescreen

- Providing more essential information at the forefront rather. then having to press multiple buttons and navigate through the app to find the info

3. Messages to Video

At first, our intention was to include only a messaging feature. However, we later realized that video calls provide doctors with a richer quantity and quality of information."

Low Fidelity Wireframes

Minimum Viable product (MVP)

Reflection (Phase 4)

01. Speaking to users

Given a bit more time, I would continue to speak to the community of potential buyers and sellers to further validate the product and build alongside them.

02. Roadblocks / Pain points from food regulations

While working on the designs with the hopes of eventually creating an MVP, I came across many roadblocks such food codes and regulations regarding running a restaurant from a home kitchen.
